THE GILLIAM AUTISM RATING SCALE (GARS) AND THE ATEC

Autism is mainly diagnosed using the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS), or the Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC),

There is also a protocol throughout the world of traditional medicine for assessing whether or not a treatment is effective for autistic people.

The ATEC (form established by Bernard Rimland & Stephan M. Edelson) is based on 4 categories divided into several points:

  1. Speech / language / communication
  2. Sociability
  3. Sensory/cognitive skills
  4. Health well-being / behavior

As the points decrease, the condition improves.
