*ATTENTION: As of November 1, 2019. Health Canada prohibits the sale and rental of hyperbaric chambers. Many of our articles were written before the Health Canada notice. Please take it into consideration 😉

In our field, it's not uncommon to see small miracles such as those reported by dozens of parents in the newspapers. The results of hyperbaric chamber treatments are becoming increasingly popular.

Autism, fibromyalgia, concussions and even Alzheimer's and Parkinson's are just some of the conditions treated by flexible hyperbaric chambers. It's all very understandable...

Stories like that of little Laura, quoted in last November's TVA news, abound in our offices: «Laura suffers from cerebral palsy. A year ago, she began three series of 40 treatments in a hyperbaric chamber, and the results came quickly. Between 20 and 40 treatments, she turned around and started to sit up for several minutes, whereas she'd only been sitting up for a few seconds before,» explains Charles-Antoine Sévigny, Laura's father.» (see related article below )

The same is true of the Montreal newspaper, which is finally showing some openness on the part of ministers such as François Paradis of the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ). Sammantha Drouin, mother of a 13-month-old boy, testifies in the Journal article: «We've just done 40 sessions, and now Léo is crawling and can sit up on his own for a few seconds. He's starting to bring solid food to his mouth. We've also stopped feeding him.»

Incredible!? Autistic children who didn't speak at all, suddenly speak after some forty hyperbaric sessions. Parkinson's sufferers sometimes see their disease stabilize or regress. And in the case of this article, the testimonials quoted above speak volumes about the effect of this kind of treatment on children.

Finally, Minister Barrette seems to want to quickly mandate the INESSS to update its 2007 opinion, which suggested redoing Dr. Pierre Marois« study, which some say was »sabotaged" by certain entities. Among other things, this study seemed to confirm the positive effects that children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and autism could see in their lives after hyperbaric chamber treatments.

Now... all we can do is wait and see what happens next, while putting pressure on the relevant authorities.... to be continued
